Had a great time here last night after the craft beer fest. Stumbled on this place after the event after seeing some great reviews. Really cool from the start. Bartender asked me if I wanted a regular or large beer. I said large. Probably the biggest beer I have ever had for 7 dollars. Thats not a bad thing! Service was great. Really just a fun bar. We had some people in town to visit and Im glad we took them here! They had a great time. We will without a doubt return to this place. Good stuff.

SUPER CHEAP. Awesome food and beer options. Food is definitely snack food and aids to your buzz. Fun spot for college football games. Must check out

A menu filled with State Fair type food done really well was enough to get me back three times. They even have deep fried candy bars. Once I tried the ridiculously good Chicago Dog and St. Petersburg Dog though, I was absolutely hooked. I am a big fan of hot dogs, and these are the absolute best. The St. Petersburg Dog is truly unique.

Five Bucks Drinkery is basically a college dive bar with food. The food is cheap. The drinks are cheap. The place is loud. They serve food late. The service is awful because they are always extremely understaffed. We generally only come here after everything else is closed down. It helps to have a few drinks in you before visiting. It can actually be a pretty fun place to watch a sports championship game with the rowdy crowd. I have tried a few of their food items and they are decent. Nothing to go out of your way for, but it will take care of your growling stomach at 1am. They have a burger with peanut butter on it which always intrigues me...but I don't think I have ever actually ordered it. The mixed drinks are also pretty good and very well priced. We will probably continue to visit Five Bucks Drinkery after all the good bars and restaurants have kicked us out. Just expect slow, crappy service and a loud crowd here.

Great staff and Creative Bar food...chicken fried bacon, fried pickles, buffalo bacon blue cheese fries, Barbeque Mac & Cheese on Texas toast was amazing. Basically a heartattack on a plate.

Here with a group of 7. They closed the back area and asked everything to make their way to the front. We went to close the tab and the bartender was nice enough to have already close the tab and LEAVE HERSELF A TIP. WOW! Management did nothing about it after we complained. Pretty sure this is illegal. BEWARE!!

You have to try the Mac and cheese melt. It's macaroni and cheese shells along with pulled pork all grilled together in a sandwich. The prices are no longer $5 but still cheap at $5.91.

I love this place. Real easy to get a lot of tasty food at a decent price. The Nacho Tacos and pretzels are perfect. Do go!

I Give it 2 stars for the atmosphere I love Downtown St.Pete there is always something to do. The restaurant itself is a bar setting indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to catch a game! The service is so disappointing, we sat ourselves to be greeted 5 minutes later than 15 mins in I flagged down our waitress after watching her seat a group of ladies and took their order before ours. I tryed not to ruin the night by getting an attitude so I just enjoyed the atmosphere and patiently waited a while, my boyfriend was getting aggrivated we had ordered appetizers which yet again I had to flag down a waitress to receive. Finally 25 minutes later appetizers were received after being told that they only had one cook and I had people who ordered before me. 2 Servers to 1 table one tryed to please us the other just didn't care. You would think with 2 servers that you wouldn't have to chase them down for your dinner but beware.... My nachos came loaded with one spoonful of meat.. You get what you pay for and next time I have no problem paying the extra money and walking next door to the oyster bar.Wedge salad was listed Awesome-I would prefer a green goddess from Applebee's anyday.. The fried pickles were good but dont try to bite into them just eat them whole or you loose the batter.. My boyfriend ordered tacos they were lacking meat and the chop meat was dry overcooked or old? Unsure which one maybe all the above...Wont be back and I am sad to say that because I love the location but not worth my time....Cool spot needs new management ...A larger staff...A maybe a hostess unsure if they had one..I did seat myself!

Only good thing about this bar is cheaper drinks but they are shitty anyway so might as well go somewhere better.

Only drank - didn't eat. Beets were cold and service was good. It was a Sunday night so not too crowded either.

It's a bar with beer and noms ! Don't expect much. The service is fine and the food is...well, bar food.

The food will give you a heart attack. Lol This place was ok for me. Lots of college kids on the bro side. Not really my scene. I won't be back.

Excellent original tacos with a great domestic bottle happy hour. Queso dip with ground beef also good with a little kick to it. Wife had blackened chicken tacos with a spicy mayo which was also excellent. Neat little place.

  • Ken L.

You can't beat their prices. 32 ounces drinks and beer for $5! Hence their name. Make sure you have a designated driver before coming here. Large beer selection and tons of specialty drinks. Oh yeah, decent music!

GREAT place for cheap bar food! I'm a fan of any divey bar that has tots on the menu. I didn't try the tots here (I tend to rate joints based on their fries, but I just wasn't in the mood for potato-ish food that night). I had the grilled veggie quesadilla and it was delish. Nothing fancy. The bartender recommended the chicken thai tacos, which both of my friends ordered and gave a thumbs up to. The place is loud, music wise, so it was hard to have a conversation. Maybe not a first date destination, unless you really don't want to be chatty. I'd definitely go back!

Delicious food for cheap! Why hasn't anyone ever told me about this place before? I am currently mourning the last four years that I have lived here and have never eaten here. I do realize it is a bar, but this is a review of the food. We stumbled in here for lunch after a bachelorette party. We were hungry and we needed something greasy. This place fit the bill to a t. No, this is not a fancy place with actual napkins (they have a roll of paper towels in the middle of every table), but for the price, I'll gladly forego niceties. All their drinks come in fat large cups. I would call them mini bucket sized. Even though we didn't drink here, I could see how this place is popular at night with drinks those sizes. We started with the pretzels. Do yourself a favor, get the pretzels. It is a party in your mouth. Seriously, amazing. It comes with queso and brown mustard. Both are good dips. The waitress put it down, came back a couple minutes later and was shocked that we ate it all so quickly. The menu is a thing of beauty. Mac and cheese grilled cheese, steak and queso tacos, hot dogs in pretzel buns, everything looked good. I ended up going with the steak and queso tacos. They were delicious. Really, you can't go wrong here. My friend got a hot dog and it was much bigger than I expected. It is a great deal for these prices! You won't get huge portions, but it will fill you up. Now I want to go back just to try something else. This is one of those places that I will be eating through the menu.

My favorite place for inexpensive bar food and even a step above bar food. The service has improved which has encouraged me to go to Five Bucks more often. I probably stop in once a week. The owner is great and is very open to listening to his customers if there is an issue and he addresses it immediately. My two favorite items to order are the soft pretzels and the Thai chicken tacos, they are delish.

St. Pete is quickly gaining a great reputation for great dining and evening options. Sometimes you just want a descent bar with good prices. This is it. I think the location and price point help this establishment. A handful of restaurants side by side, all with outdoor seating. Good place to head after the Baseball game. $5 burgers which were tasty. Good beer selection and the staff was pleasant. Don't come here if you are a foodie. Great $5 burger, but you can probably get a culinary delight burger around the corner.

A group of friends and I stopped in for drinks after a Rays game. It was pretty crowded, however we were served immediately. The bartender was chatty and recommended a shot for the fellas, my beer was cold, and we were in and out pretty quickly. It's not the worst option as far as Central Ave. bars go!

  • Desiree D.

Id like to put in a request for one of these to be in New Jersey. Under $5 you can get anthing from a grilled cheese (which i had, aint nothing special about it but it hit the spot). sliders, cajun fries (nice spice but could have been crunchier), tacos (chicken and pork and i think seafood), and drinks. Yup everything, large beers to strong drinks to food..all under $5. it has a pub/hooters feel to it, its a great spot to pregame at. I love it. However, service was slow...took forever to get the most simple thing, the waiters seemed a little too casual and slow.

It's inexpensive bar food. Not great, not bad. Good spot for college students and cheap eats and drinks

Excellent burgers! Love this place. It's always very crowded so be prepared! It's also very loud, but that is just part of The Central Ave bar scene. Excellent service despite the huge crowd.

  • Natasha D.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Sometimes the service is really good, and other times I have been completely ignored. I have been ignored more than been waited on in a pleasant manner. The redeeming qualities about this place are their chicken wings, which are cheap and delicious, and the drink prices. The crowd here can be trashy and rude. I have seen a guy come in and ream out the bartender for no good reason. The bartender did not serve him a drink, rightfully so. And it is really dark inside all the time. Sometimes there are tables available outside, but there is also most likely some old dude sitting at an entire table alone smoking cigarettes by the pack. I will come here in the future for their wings, but that would probably be the only reason. But it's great if you're on a budget!

  • Jamie D.

Stopped in for a drink with a friend. Friendly environment, the place is large with lots of TVs. If you sit at the bar you'll notice all the drivers lic and credit cards on the wall. This is from people that left them there and never came back to get them. There are so many it's hilarious. We didn't eat anything and wasn't offered a menu. It was late so maybe the kitchen was closed.

As the saying goes..."You get what you pay for". My friends and I tried this place recently, not thrilled. It's a pub. Everything's $5 or thereabouts. Seating was limited, we got stuck sitting at the bar, which is ok. No biggie, but when trying to talk with your friends over dinner, not the best seating. It was loud, as a pub is. We ordered our dinner right away. Nothing fancy, this is a burger/sandwich joint. I didn't realize my friends ordered their food with the drink order, I caught up about 2 mins later. I don't really expect great service in places like this, but there's limits. My friends got their burgers and were pretty much done by the time I got mine. Rather ridiculous. No one said anything, no one apologized. Nothing, It was pretty much whatever. So I got to eat my food while my friends sat there finished. Food quality-as expected...meh. We got $5 meals. They never asked for a temp of the burgers, I guess everything is just cooked to medium well. We've gone to similar places, and while the atmosphere is the same, we've had much better experiences. Won't be back.

5 bucks is a great spot on Central Ave to grab a beer or some bar grub with friends. I went with a few friends on a recent Thursday night. We started off with Snake Bite beer (magic hat #9 and redd's apple ale mix, yum) and some of their fabulous nachos. In addition I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and cheesy bacon tater tots. The burger is a bit on the small side but still tasty. The cheesy bacon tater tots were like greasy, cheesy heaven on a plate. Not something I would usually order, but me being starving means I'm going to make bad tasty choices every once in a while. My friends ordered the wings and jalapeno poppers and those were good as well. Since we were sitting on the chairs outside we had to go in to order more beer and food, which was kind of annoying, but not the worst. Word of warning, I would definitely not go here on a weekend, especially not first friday, as it's literally so packed that you can barely move in there. Check it out during the week!

  • Andrew Z.

I don't drink but I went with people that did early on a Saturday night, good vibe to the place, great location, a nice selection of beer and a halfway decent menu. I ordered some fish tacos and cheesy tater tots, the tacos were much better than expected (I think it was the cheese that made it) and the tots were a little better than average, which is to say better than really good French fries. What really got me was the gigantic beer for like $8, it was served in one of those quart to-go containers that you would usually contain a family size order of wonton soup.

Great food great drinks awesome location overflowing with atmosphere I love this place and highly recommend it

  • Rigby N.

The food is very okay here but the prices are better than almost everywhere around. If you order a burger, they don't even ask what temperature you'd like, you just get a burger. It's bar food. The kitchen is generally very slow no matter how busy it is and the staff doesn't work that hard. On more than one occasion, the bartender forgot that I asked for my tab and I had to flag someone else down. Don't go here if you're trying to grab a quick bite and rush out but if all you're doing is bar-hopping, stop on in.

  • Toby L.

Happy that we finally made it to the other side of the block to come into Five Bucks. Don't pay attention to the mediocre reviews of this place, you get strong drinks and good beer for the price. And, a $5 and under menu for food, you can't get McDonald's that cheap!! Go in, get some drinks and keep going, that's what it's about. It's clean, staff is friendly and it's convenient to every other establishment. What more could you ask for?

Omg hands down some of the best hand breaded chicken tenders and honey mustard I have had. The service was outstanding. Top notch food and service at a super reasonable price. Can't wait to be back here.

Stopped here for dinner ordering a night hanging out at some bars in downtown st. Pete. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the food and drinks were $5 left, from what I could see. Even the sweet tea vodka, Firefly, which I love was included in that pricing. We ordered the chicken fried bacon which blew my mind! It was insanely delicious. We also ordered some tacos. The tortillas were a tiny bit stale, but other than that they were great. This is definitely a new place on my list of stops when I hang out in downtown St Pete.

I didn't want to like this place at first. Came off as a frat boy kind of college hangout judging by the name and location. Yeah, there are those types there most nights, but since I don't go when it's clusterfuck conditions I wouldn't know. 7.50 for a beer in a genuine Wonton Soup container (30 oz. at least) and food at 5 dollars draws in the college balling-on-a-budget crowd I'm sure. The grub is on par with the pricepoint. Not gourmet but not fast food either. The Texas burger looks pretty cool with the onion rings stacked up (sure doesn't look like it only cost 5 bux) and the Chipotle sauce drizzled over packs a nice kick. But the main draw here is the Mac & Cheese Melt thingie. Texas toast grilled cheese with a layer of cheddary mac & cheese shells and pulled pork with a little bbq sauce mixed in. Sounds kinda weird...but once you have one you'll be waking up in the morning thinking about this bad boy and headin' straight over until your face gets to have one. Trust me. Did I mention batter fried BACON drizzled with maple syrup? 'Nuff said. If that doesn't get you over there then you have no soul, or at least no palette. +5 for the beautiful day staff Kate & Brittany. RAWR.

They are open until 3 am on weekends, and at about 2:30 they announce last call, so I order a beer at last call, and about 3 minutes later, they turn on all the lights and kick everyone out - they wouldn't let me finish my beer and the bouncer actually knocked my beer out of my hand. I would not recommend this place to anyone given the terrible service. Also, there's just a douche-bag element to this place that is rather pervasive.

  • Chef D.

The food was great but the bartender (Corrie) was rude and slow. I asked up front about a dish and she charger me extra with out telling me. I will never come here again. 9/03/11 Against my better judgement I tried again. The same bartender was there I sat down to order to go food ( I love chicken and waffles. And I had a taste for them ). When Corrie came over I stated that I wanted place a to go order, she interrupted me and ask did I want something to drink I was like no just food. I placed my placed my order and she came back and told me the price I gave her my money in her hand she bought my change back and placed it on the filthy bar. I still left a small tip because she placed the order. but she is not the nicest person......She picked up the tip didn't say thank you or anything. Now when I got my food and went back to work I discovered that the waffle was supper soggy with no syrup on it. and my chicken was not done all the way..........I guess its just not meant for me to come to this spot. With the great beer selection and prices I would enjoy it but I can not deal with the bad service. All the other places I visit on the same strip the staff is friendly.

ok, just so you know.... dont get anything (besides the pretzel) that isn't deep fried. The rest is overly microwaved. I couldnt even eat my chili cheese dog. blech. 1 star lost. Really why wouldnt they just deep fry the dog? It would be just as easy as the microwave.

  • Chloe O.

Excellent beer selection and prices. Fun atmosphere without being too clubby. Digital jukebox with tons of options, as well as darts outside. I received great, attentive service at the bar. This place is an excellent casual bar to hang out in! Pleasantly crowded at least on First Friday. My only wish is that they had some healthier food options. It's great "munchies" but everything includes either a hot dog or nacho cheese. I suggest only eating here late at night when you don't care what's going into your body...which I assume is really the point of their menu anyway, it's a drinkery after all, not an eatery.

  • Greg B.

Five bucks drinkery is great, yeah for you yuppies it's not the Vinoy and I agree you won't be happy (so don't go back). The drinks and the food are very reasonably priced (most things $5 or less). They have a great selection for drinks (full liquor) and the food is awesome they have a so many different items that you never see anywhere else, like the Mac & cheese melt with pulled pork (it's awesome). Amanda & Torsten are always great and their service is always on point.

Excellent affordable bar that is nonsmoking!

Went here on a recommendation. The first two beers i ordered on the "on tap" chalkboard were out. So i got my 3rd choice. Then ordered the famous pulled pork and mac and cheese sandwich. No pork. Will not be back

Stop here after a great day out bike riding. This is the five bucks drink early I definitely recommend it. Britney is our waitress she was great. Get a large beer you'll be good to go bye. Get the St. Pete hotdog was awesome bye.

  • Tim M.

The food was sooo flavorful if you like spicy we had the Texas burger, loaded nachos and the drinkery fries!! Loaded with flavor and spice! Cheap beer and affordable food, most under $5.00. Fresh spicy jalapeño on the burger and fries! Delish!

  • Bre B.

Okay so. Let me just say how delicious the food and drinks are ( not to mention great prices) but how ABSOLUTELY RUDE and unkind our server was. We Live here in the area and have been many times, however we will NEVER be back because of BRITTANY. There were 3 people in our party drinking and she NEVER asked any of us if we wanted doubles, but we were charges for them?!?! We kindly tried to bring it up to her and she freaked out on us. She threatened that if we didnt pay she was going to get the cops?! And we asked to speak with a manager and she was dead set that there was no one in a higher position here we could talk to. She called my boyfriend a DICK and an ASSHOLE and told us to pay and ' get the FUCK out! ' Seriously???? We come here all the time and we will be telling everyone what happened. It is ILLEGAL to over serve drinks!!!!! She never asked any of us if we wanted doubles!!! SO unhappy with this experience and the rude service. Never again. And everyone going be warned they dont ask if you want doubles, they will just charge you and say fuck you when you ask why. NEVER again!!!!

I live for places like this. The best of uptown and downtown all situated in one location. I come here for the nachos, mostly. Talk about a lot of healthy (sic) food. It has your protein, dairy, greens, and grains all rolled into one. The scene is pretty busy and can get quite loud at times, but that is the appeal of the place for me. As the name states, this place has everything for the average price of five dollars. 24 fl oz of beer to satisfy your palette, or hard liquor drinks that are quite larger than you'll find at your average bar for the same price. Every time that I have come here, the place never seems to be void of people and can get very loud at times. I will most definitely be back for more and more fun. The music is current mixed with oldies but goodies and it seems to be the perfect place to pick up a nice girl or guy, or if you like a bad girl or guy. ¡Mucho gusto!

  • E B.

Well...this place just became non-existent for my husband and I. We used to love coming here weekly for their long island ice teas and cheap but rather addicting bar food. However, tonight the manager treated us like we were vagrants. Well mr. manager we are officially no longer contributing to your bottom line.

  • Ashley B.

5 bucks is such a fun bar downtown. Don't go here if you are looking for a fancy dinner or anything. It's a fun loud bar... with no smoking. They list all there beers on a chalk board on the wall, but of course you could always look at the taps or ask. All drinks are $5 or less in the normal cups, but if you get a large cup (which is about 3x the size of the smaller one) the price is in proportion. This is an amazing place to go on First Fridays. They have live music inside and it gets crowded, but not unenjoyable crowded. There is an outside bar that has bar stool seats. Someone else mentioned there is another bar by the outside entrance that is called green room or something, they only sell beer/wine. All in all this is one of my favorite bars downtown. You don't have to dress to impress and it's always a good time.

  • Charlotte S.

Chicken Fried Bacon, Buffalo tater tots and five dollar drinks?!? This is a great way to start the weekend! The staff were all very accommodating and worked quickly to make sure the crowded bar was taken care of. One guest was having such a great time he bought a round of 60 shots!!! I also liked the fact that people weren't smoking because my allergies can't handle that.

  • Ross M.

I second everything Christopher B explained in his review. Except that I did not get kicked out for bringing my mixed drink to the table!!! HAHA (I guess I just got lucky). Yes, it was crowded, but I have seen worse, especially for the time (past midnight on a Saturday night). We were only here for a little while. I can;t really even remember what kind of music they played. I had a drink or to and goofed around with friends. I took some very embarrassing pictures of some of my friends. I was happy not to be in the pictures. If you are going out in downtown St. Pete. You will have about as much fun here and many of the other places around. I had not gone out downtown in quite sometime, so it is a bit difficult for me to compare. Even though it was crowded, there always seemed to be a place at the bar and I was always helped within a reasonable amount of time. We were able to grab a table pretty quick. There was a line out front to get in, but there is also a back entrance with no line. I was happy my friend knew about it. Overall, we had a lot of fun finishing up our night here. This place is A-OK!!!

  • Tiffany H.

This place is really nothing but average (that's being generous) if you're not looking to just get plowed. I went with some friends for a birthday of bar-hopping. The food menu is pretty run of the mill for bar eats. I was a bit bummed out that the one thing I wanted to try wasn't being served anymore. My lone ginger ale was a few squirts of one soda, a couple of another, a weak shoulder shrug and "I guess it's close"... So yeah, if you're looking to get your buzz on, I guess it's a decent option.

Went twice during my trip to St. Petersburg, both times after 11pm. I really enjoyed the bar food, especially the jalapeño poppers!

  • Sam M.

Not a bad place for a divey yet pleasant place to hang out. I stopped by on a quiet Sunday afternoon to kill some time before my flight. They have a nice selection of beer and beer to go which is cool. You can tell that this is a place where some power drinking occurs on busy nights. The menu is standard pub fare and I liked the chicken fried bacon which was pretty damn good. The service I received was pretty good too. I'd recommend it for a quick casual stop in. Nothing to rave about but it wasn't a bad place either.

    (3)
  • Christopher B.

The best I can say about this place is that it is inexpensive for downtown but still NOT $5!!! So really why is it called Five Bucks Drinkery when my basic drinks were NOT $5? Anyways, the place is always so crowded that you can't move. Most often I end up drinking outside. The thing is that the outside bars are not from the same place! One is beer and wine only and will kick you out of the tables that they share if you don't drink only beer and wine. I think this is the organic place though I don't remember their name. Don't drink there. Five bucks is better but why stand around outside when there are a dozen better bars along Central. Go to the Garden, Mastry's, the Buffalo Hide, or a ton of others that are just better bars.

Love this local watering hole. $5 bucks or less-can't beat that. Great bar fare, especially the burgers and nachos. Sit outside for the total Florida experience.

Nice little bar. I like it bc they serve food so no smoke. Decent beer selection. Ive only had the pulled pork sandwich--its too good to try anything else :) There are things that aren't $5 though!

For what it is, it hits a home run. A great dive bar, with great dive bar food. The price is right, the service is fast and friendly. Atmosphere is laid back. Every restaurant/bar section of town needs a place like this. I patronize them every time I hit Central for a night of fun.

I am never able to finish a burger. the TEXAS burger i ate here i ate the entire thing! we had fried bacon to start off and it was also incredible. grated i enjoy bar food but this bar food is superb. the drinks are strong and they even offer huge beers (36oz). the service was good although on a 'first friday' or weekend getting served is like fighting for the last piece of bread in a famine. as it is with any downtown bar in st pete.

    (5)
  • Theresa F.

Nice little spot for cheap (greasy) food and college style drinks (think plastic cups and a bit grimy of tables) but the service is pleasant, and you can't really beat a 5$ drink and snacks.. nice stop for shots.

    (2)
  • Gi S.

Bartender was attentive, food came out fast. Chicken fried bacon is TO DIE FOR!!! not recommended for healthy people but definitely recommend a nice ice cold beer with it! Vegetarians, this place is not for you! Blackened shrimp tacos and pulled pork tacos are AMAZING with an equally amazing price.

  • Kelly Q.

I like Five Bucks, big bar space, a wide selection and middle of the road prices. I'd definitely go back. Also, the line to get in was huge in the front so we bypassed it by going through the bar next door which connects to the back of five bucks and their outside "terrace" Showed our IDs one more then bada bing bada boom, right into the back bar. High rollers we are. Their speciality is this humungo cup of beer for ...yup, you guessed it, 5 bucks!

This place has good drink prices. It is definitely a dive bar but is fun for a good price. They have 32 ounce beers that are around $7 and good liquor drinks as well. The bartender was very helpful as well. If you are downtown to get hammered for cheap then go here.

The patrons were about 30 years our juniors but after 12 hours in a car we needed an oasis from the road. Jonathan, you are the man! Thanks for making a couple of old fogeys gin martinis! The fried mushrooms and Jalapeno poppers hit the spot, too. A weekend visit might have been a bit too much for us but a late night weeknight stop was spot on!

Thanks for a memorable experience!!!!! However, not everyone starts to kick off their long weekend trip in St Petersburg with an epic case of FOOD POISONING!

its 5 buck because everything is around 5 bucks.. food isn't the best in the world, but its not god awful, i ordered everything on the menu and for 5 bucks you can't beat it for all american artery clogging food that just washes down with a beer.... if your into that kinda of stuff.

Big fan of cheap drinks, laid-back environments, and friendly staff? Then like me, this place is for you as well. They have a fairly extensive beer list posted right up on the wall. It's huge. You're blind if you miss it. The bartenders are helpful in choosing a beer for you if you care to venture off the beaten path of your routine selections. Not to mention, they're attentive to your re-filling desires. My buddy and I needed a breather after getting a little too sloppy faster than we'd like. They have free darts right outside in that covered hallway area. If it's free, it's for me. Right? I have a feeling I'd be coming here more often than I should. Cheers!!

Five bucks is not a 5 star restaurant, however, as far as bars go - it's as good as it gets! We love Five Bucks. First, everything is $5 or less. Can't beat it. Very large beer selection and really good (bar) food. Their sandwiches and tots are awesome. We love hanging out here at all hours. The staff is friendly and always attentive. Definitely our favorite place downtown.

What a brilliant idea, executed to perfection! A bar that offers up a wide selection of draft and bottled beers, hot food and appetizers, and all the fun and music and drinking you'd want in a great bar... and offer everything up for under five bucks! Nothing overly fancy about this place, but it is a TON of fun to visit. Plenty of seats at the bars, a few tables scattered throughout the building, so you won't have trouble finding a place to sit and relax. The bartenders are cool, attentive, and very chatty. Since the drinks are cheap, venture out and try something new- ask the bartenders about the different microbrews on tap and in the fridge. After putting a few down, get out and play some darts, or throw some songs up on the jukebox! Really can't think of too much else to say about Five Bucks. A GREAT little bar to sit and relax, have some drinks and hot food, make some great friends, and have a great time. Had a blast here, and will definitely be stopping back in when I'm down in St. Pete again.

My drink was not $5. I feel dubbed. I am not complaining though. My drink was $4. My visit was on a Sunday afternoon. They weren't busy nor dead. I didn't notice a large draft selection, but at least they didn't have the standard "frat/sorority" beers. I have no clue what the bottle selection was like because i only stopped by for one beer.

I stopped in to Five Bucks for a quick drink after dinner and had a great experience for the short amount of time I was there. The bartender was helpful in picking out drinks and fun to talk to. I'm sure I'll be back again. UPDATE: Well, whenever I'm in the mood for a dive/college bar atmosphere or lat-night food, this is where I like to go. Giant beers, incredible menu items like the pulled-pork mac & cheese sandwich (yes, you read that correctly), and a younger crowd usually give you a good time. My only complaint is service (You with heavy sarcasm: "In a bar? Really?"); Yes, even when popping in for a late lunch and the place is near empty the service is incredibly slow. My recommendation is if you're in a hurry or want a real meal, go somewhere else. But if you want to post up and work on fattening yourself up on fantastic fried food and beer, this is an excellent place to do so.

My favortie bar in DTSP. Great prices, strong drinks. Good live band on First Fridays. Gets Crowded but it's awesome nonetheless.

I'm a tad surprised that this place has received such high ratings. I've been there a few times, and it's always been "just ok", and slightly boring. The food is alright, standard items that you could order at Chili's or any other chain; the drinks are ok too, nothing too original or beyond the expected standard inventory. I like the concept, but if I had received better service I'm sure my rating would have been at least a 3.

So this is a standard bar. With decent bar food for the price and the atmosphere depends when u come. Saturday afternoon is not recommended if you want to keep your sanity. I think the 3 baseball teams made the couple next to me crap in their depends from the obnoxious noise volume- they took their food to go. Tacos and nachos recommended if your looking for a fresh great lite snack....oh and they seem to be staffed much better on the weekends. Haven't met a grouchy person here yet.

Food is very inexpensive, yet they serve big portions. Be cautious with their jalapeños, these are REALLY spicy. Service could improve a little bit though. Our server forgot to bring us napkins, and forgot to bring us the jalapeños on the side. Let me explain, it wasn't such a busy night. However, would still recommend this place.

The food was great! Everything was really cheap, so I was expecting to walk away hungry, but I was very satisfied by what I got. The fries were the best cajun fries I have ever had. The BLT was actually good too. The service was really good.

Been here for an hour now and still haven't received proper service. only reason I haven't left yet is because I'm kind intoxicated and dnt feel like searching for another spot my girl had to flag down waitress who took our order as if we was bothering her. We order fried pickles and and wedge salad for and appetizer that was 20mins ago haven't got those yet. Over all this place suck a big one.

Standard, basic. Too crowded most of the time. Ok to stand around I suppose. It is not a club but it is so loud you can't really talk to anyone. Holy crap this review makes me sound like an old lady.
